Time to put a face to a name!
You've heard her voice and now it's time to put a face to it! Meet Natalie L - and we couldn't do life without her! Natalie is the glue that holds our Customer Service department together and always keeps the office laughing. We caught up with her this week to chat about her favorite parts of the job, her all time go-to shoes, and what her dream Charleston Shoe would be!
How long have you worked for Charleston Shoe Company and what drew you to Customer Service?
"I have worked for Charleston Shoe Company for four years, and I am a people person! My degree is in hospitality management, but my entire professional career has been based around customer service or internal support. The satisfaction of helping someone solve a problem is such a great feeling!"
What do you love most about your job?
"I love everything about my job. I love Neely's energy and drive. I love our customers, coworkers, and the entrepreneurial spirit within this company and, of course, I love love love the product. There is always the opportunity to learn something new within this business and everyone encourages this type of growth.”
What (if you can choose) is your favorite shoe?
"As the whole office knows it's obviously the Hilton, but I actually own more of my other favorite -the MED. I can wear both of these styles from 6:30am to 8:00pm and they are always so comfortable. I can't tell you how many times I have sprinted after children in these shoes while volunteering at the school."
If you could design a "Natalie" shoe, what would it be?
"Oh the 'Natalie' shoe. I probably wouldn't name it 'Natalie' but 'The KAL' my son's initials. It would be a version of a comfy closed toe sling back with a kitten heel."
We have to ask, what's the craziest story you have for us?
"Craziest? We had a client call very upset (inconsolable) because FedEx did not deliver her package in time for her international vacation. It was one of those situations where management needed to get involved. I spoke to her and told her I would do everything in my power to try to get her shoes delivered before her trip. (She was leaving early the next morning). She had paid for expedited guaranteed delivery and something happened so I called FedEx and luckily spoke to a representative that I was familiar with (this never happens!). She knew me by name and she was so kind and went out of her way to help. We both knew that it was a long shot that they would get delivered on time (the package somehow did not get put on the delivery truck...human error...it happens). I begged and pleaded to see if there was anything that could be done including sending a separate driver... and hallelujah they did it! The customer called back within 2 hours and said 'Natalie I am not sure what you did, but a black sedan with a man in a business suit just pulled up and hand delivered my shoes. Thank you for saving my vacation!’"
